Steps for Weight Reducing Diet

FREE FOOD:

Beverages like clear soup,pepper water,tomato juice (without sugar),tender coconut water,dilute skimmed buttermilk,rasam,soda and mineral water,lime juice with salt.

All Vegetables (including green leafy vegetables) except tubers.

Green tea/Black/tea/coffee.

FOOD PERMITTED IN LIMITED QUANTITY

Nuts like almond,walnut can be taken(4 Almonds or 1 walnut/day)

Oil Canola/Saffola/Sunflower/Gingerly/Olive oil. Refined oil not more than 2-3 teaspoons per day or 1/2 liter per person per month.

Non-vegetarian items like Fish,Chicken, can be taken 1 piece per serving in boiled/grilled form(75gm).

Fruits like Oranges, Sweet Lime, Apple, Papaya, Watermelon, Apple,Small, Strawbery,banana,Guava,Muskmelon,Pluses can be taken (2-3 fruits/day)

FOOD TO BE AVOIDED

Fats like vanaspathi,ghee,butter,coconut oil & coconut.

Sweets like pudding,payasam,burfis,laddu,desserts,ice creams.

Bakery products like cakes,pasteries,biscuits etc.

High Calorie fruits banana (big), grapes,mango,custard apple,sapota etc.,

Raw banana and root vegetables like potato,yam,colocasia,sweet potato.

Nuts like peanuts,cashewnuts and dried fruits like figs,dates,currants,raisins,apricots etc.,

Egg yolk,ham,bacon,mutton,sausages,cheese,cottage etc.,

Aerated drinks like cola, thums up,limca etc.,

Fruit juices (with sugar), squashes etc.,

Fried food like chips,bondas,patties etc., and food containing a lot of fat.


FOOD RECOMMENDED

High fibre foods like salads and boiled vegetables, sprouted grams pulses,fruits with skins whenever possible and wheat flour and it's products,parboiled rice etc., in preference to refined flour and pulses.

Drink warm water and avoid cold water.

NOTE

Skimmed milk and its products like curd,cheese,paneer,desserts etc., should be taken in limited quantity. (Maximum skimmed milk allowance per day is 500-600 ml)
